A senior connection of mine in law enforcement said he's willing to put some resources behind catching some of these guys. There are a whole range of laws being transgressed by them from black mailing, impersonating law enforcement officers (which the real good cops don't like), extortion - the list goes on. These carry some hefty sentences. And unlike 419 scams, these guys can be traced and with careful police work you'll be able to catch a few of them and bring a few cases to set an example. If anyone is currently being harassed or has been a victim in the past you can DM me privately. It might be worth a shot.

Edit: please don't send me any personal information, confidentiality is key for all. Details of the perpetrator may be useful at this stage - like which number they used.

I'm fortunate that I haven't, but know of someone that wasn't aware it was a scam, didn't use a punter phone and the poor oke ended up out of pocket quite a bit. Thankfully we can spread awareness on the forum, because it will never stop. You take a few down, more will pop up. That's unfortunately the era we live in where all criminals need is an electronic device and can do this from the comfort of their home/prison cell. Also no use reporting to your local police station as they have no idea where to start. They'll pretend to write a report, if at all, and throw your docket away.

That's one way of dealing with them. Unrelated to the topic I once met a chick online who was out to scam me. We were supposed to meet and she wanted me to pay for her transport. No problem, I'll call your Uber. When she objected and I figured out what was happening I played a long. The amount of times I sent her up and down to the atm with fake cash sends every time with a different story why she couldnt withdraw was crazy. At some stage I even increased the amount I was supposed to send her significantly for all her trouble. She bought it and went back to withdraw. It was fun. After that I was bombarded for about a week with calls from unknown numbers. I blocked until she ran out of numbers and eventually she just have found a different victim and it stopped.

Hahaha, also had a similar story, long ago, where a wg wouldn't leave me alone after a booking then she came out saying that I owed her money and I must buy this and that... eventually she began threatening me and then I started receiving the calls. Admittedly, my mistake was being nice and buying her stuff in the first place even though it was just basics like toiletries.

She really tried to take advantage of me after that. Yoh I've never been so fucking pissed in my life. Blocked all contact but that encounter made me a very, very cold and impersonal man... I could not give a single fuck about any of these lady's problems anymore, nice lady or not. I'm a jaded man when these girls come with there sob stories and how they need help... All I got to say now is fuck off and figure it out yourself.

I remember my first call, I was working from home, my heart was beating as Sargent what what told me about the counterfeit money and the rape against me. I was so scared, all I could think of was the dirty cops you see on tv and how they definitely will arrest me. At that point this was my first 6 months of punting....and I punted. I was so sure my life was ruined I confessed to my mom and sister. Mom was super disappointed, dad called and laughed and reassured me and laughed more that I ran to mom and not him. Needless to say, they know who I am now. I punt in peace. I like these ladies here, I really do.

The worst thing is there's nothing that can do be done other than to stay vigilant.

1) Use a punting phone,
2) only take calls from known numbers
3) and phone should only be on when required.
4) change punting sim on a regular basis.

Punting now for many years,
