Men and women are simply different.
Punting is more recreational in my world, than about finding a replacement or substitute for the woman I love.
Punting is more about my desires etc, and need to explore (re-live the conquest!) than about cheating.
I think cheating is that red line you cross when you start forming a "relationship" (beyond friendship) outside of your marriage. You don't need to have sex to know you're cheating.
In fact, I see punting as a self reward. Just as fun as scoring the match winning goal etc. It's fun!

Problem boss, is try saying this to your vrou. If your vrou don't know of you fucking around behind her back, its cheating.
There are punters on ESA who in the past claimed that their wives/girlfriends know that they pay for sex. so that's probably the only examples where attached guys can't punt and not be considered cheating.
Cheating also suffers from this drawback and I think many marriages do to. So in the end if one's root cause of cheating, punting etc.is never dealt with, one will never truly be happy. Looking at others for the reasons we fall is a selfish avoidance strategy we adopt because we sometimes fail to pull out own weeds out by their roots.
I'm not sure how to practise that in my own life though.. so perhaps my words are just that?
