So I contacted a lady and asked her rates and services. She told me it's X amount for FH. I say Shap!
Then I ask until what time are you working? To which she responds she works until very late, no worries.
So I say ok pencil me in for a booking for 17h00 till 18h00.
Then she says that's fine but her rates goes up by another R200 from 17h00.
Now I don't have a problem paying the R200 as I was planning on tipping her on top of the original quoted price anyway. But doesn't something like that kinda already put a damper on the booking and makes a punter weary of shit service to follow as she is already hustling him before he's even set foot on her premises? And it's his first visit to her.
Makes me nervous...might waste some good money now that could've been spent elsewhere.
Or is this a standard thing where ladies push up prices after certain hours in the evening? Am I being oversensitive?

Take the kid gloves off, Kimmy. It's not his birthday month anymore - press on with the hard questions, haha!

After 5:00pm she probably has to pay the helper/nanny/day care/transport/venue, extra to stay late.
If she is new she is probably not aware that she can include the information on her profile and to inform clients from the onset when they call of the different rates for the various times applicable.
Most ladies are learning something new everyday to improve their business, working conditions, service to clients.
Just be honest and bring it to her attention that she should tell clients bookings from 5:00pm there is an additional R200 fee.
Most of us charge a higher rate for evening bookings to cover additional cost.
I had to charge a client an additional R1500 on an overnight booking to book a hotel room as I was not comfortable doing the booking at my premises as loud noises after 10:00pm is not allowed. Told him this upfront and he was happy.
It's not that we hustle clients it's just that some bookings incur additional expenses.
