Wow what excellent news. Just goes to show how powerful social and real media, when working in unison, can affect real change. Gives me a great deal of hope for the future of this country.

Wtf !!! I pray Pravin does not become a puppet, for he has always been one of the straight, honest to goodness leaders in govt.
However he does have to contend with the fate of Nene based on his decisions. Does Pravin tow the line or do what is right ? Time will tell.

seems a bit of a monopoly economy. Do not know if l should amire Zuma for admitting he was wrong or wonder if the inmates are running the asylum.

Don't lose sight of the main issue here, which was never the appointment of Van Rooyen, but the removal of Nene because he was a thorn in the side of Zuma and his corrupt cronies. Let us not forget. For that Zuma should have been removed, but he wasn't. It points to a much bigger problem in the ANC. We are in still deep trouble, but at least the tide is turning against Zuma from within the ANC. I think his goose is cooked and he will only serve out his term as president and retire quietly in Nkandla, and his plans of being reappointed as ANC president will not succeed.

Zuma is merely the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the efficiency of governing the country. Whichever ANC faction takes charge of the country will eventually end in disaster. Root cause of the problem is the ANC itself, and a new party to govern SA us the ultimate solution!

Pravin, Nene, someone else, it matters not...

What has been proven to the foreign investors is that our markets are not stable, it is simply to easy for Prez1 to swap out those he is on the outs with. Yes, he has now stuck in Pravin who has a history but all the outside media is still kvetching about chopping and changing all willy nilly without market preparation.
Then Prez1 gave a completely nonsense excuse for the initial move in the first place...

Prez1 has bent "investment confidence" over a barrel and given it a good pomping, sans lube !

We are one very small step above junk status, the Fed will make it's move this week, and Laughing Buddha is playing fast and loose with the entire economy, christ, how many billions of dollars did we just hemorrhage in a week ???

".. goose is cooked... quietly retiring in Nkandla" ????

You clearly miss the point completely don't you?
That R100Bn nuclear deal (plus the lesser SAA @ Boeing lease etc) will be forced through now, with puppet van Rooyen acting as a mere stamp of approval, and this will fund Zuma (via backhanded ways) waaayyy past his retirement age - at SUCH a cost to the country that we already now know (enter Nene!) that we cannot afford it... which will lead us where exactly??

Simplest way to see this nightmare... $1 = R15.26...

Yes, there was a 0.82% gain but considering we lost 6% in days who knows how long it will take to earn it all back to to the levels just before the debacle, never mind the levels from 4 years ago.
Add that to the Fed rate increase on Wednesday and it means Thursday and Friday is going to be really interesting to watch.

So will Pravin Gordhan follow Nene's decision with respect to the Airbus deal , or will he do Zuma's bidding?
