@pieter, the comment from ESA related to nitpicking on other people's grammar in posts with no comment on the content of the actual posts itself.

Thoughts and interventions on the content of posts are always welcome, especially in eloquently written English like only some people can do, so that we can all swim in the pool of knowledge.

Not agreeing Longjohn.

Open forum, you can post what you like. Choice is yours whether you want to read and/or comment.

Open up yourself to the wonders of the Queen's language.

It is exhilarating to be learning new things every day. The brain is still functioning, even if some other parts struggle to keep up.

My daily aphrodisiac...

Correct fduck, so let's combine the two: you guys never wondered about Qcumber who clearly cannot spell cucumber?
It's about time to take him to the spelling cleaners Ben... off you go then?

Oh wait, I'll be next, Schmuck etc - better not!

Having had English as one of my undergraduate majors, I think I can unbiasedly say that a broad vocabulary is a good thing, but certainly doesn't automatically equate to great learning.

I learnt a few neat turns of phrase from Blake, Browning, Elliot and others, but I'm here for carnal reasons, so short words will do just fine.

One can swim in the sea of knowledge or drown in the the pool of stagnation.

Choices me boy, what life is all about.
