I have actually had good experiences with two WGs who asked for some money in genuine need (some months apart)

They both wanted me to not pay the next time I saw them - we agreed on waiving the tip - they both genuinely appreciated the help and certainly made it worth my while

perhaps it had something to do with the fact that I was already a regular - and they did not ask again

So I guess not every situation is the same
