@Arhwenthat

“if a guy feels comfortable with his "pistol" in my hands why won't he feel comfortable with his firearm in my safe?”

I think there are two main reasons.

There is a trust issue. We have never met, but you sound the type of lady that I would visit, broadly respected, intelligent, not prone to nonsense, eloquent and decent. That said, I do not KNOW you. Even if we were to become bosom buddies, in the old fashioned sense of the term, I would not necessarily trust others around you and would be conscious of that damned thing being around all the time.

My ability to be in control when naked is somewhat diminished. Is there a nut case friend in the house that might cause kak, what about a police raid, those battery powered digital safes can fail and people lose the manual key. A new topic could probably come up with hundreds of reasons regarding the hazards of bring a firearm to a WG’s place.

I have no issues wearing a firearm if a situation beyond my control requires its use. But to consciously put myself in a compromising position while responsible for it is in my mind, well irresponsible.

The next issue is my in built habits regarding firearms. These came from years in the army following which we had rigorous rules in a number of companies I worked for and these have simply become ingrained and all but impossible to ignore. These have made me the person I am when I am carrying. I may as well try to stop being as handsome as I am. There is just nothing I can do about it!

Hotels are another place that cause me issues, I can’t leave it in my room safe and cant truly enjoy and evening chill out at the end of a day. It’s not just punting, there are stacks of challenges.

I carry my EDC 90 % of the time you never know in this country of ours I agree 100% with Le roux drinking and carrying of a firearm is a no go nobody ever knows that a carry one its the elements of surprise that will safe your life at the end of the day. There has been one or two occasions where I have gone punting with it and and with out anybody aware had it close enough to have a eye on it. It's not ideal but had no choice in the matter for know I pop home leave it in my safe when I go punting just safer that way. I am fortunate to work for my self so got a safe at the office that is regulations with the SAPS

@Le roux..

Thank you Sir for your thoughts and personal practices... with regards to owning a firearm. I think we can take alot out of it.

I can see myself. .adopting some of ur practices.

@ le roux thank you for the lovely compliment.

If I put myself in your shoes I can understand where you coming from. In my case you need not worry about a nut case friend I work alone my place is safe and secure so again if comfortable with your pistol in my hand why not be comfortable with your fire arm in my safe ;) since we will both be vulnerable #Nawty thoughts#

I agree such a topic would insightful to both punters and wg alike

EDC=everyday carry.

An acronym used so nonchalantly on the premise that we would at once understand its meaning...

Amazing!
