I would NOT hand my phone over to anyone else upon arriving at an appointment. Not under any circumstances. Whether the fellow was really rude to the guard or not, I don't know. Would be a shame if he was. But we don't really know. Though all the evidence supplied in this (horrible) exchange suggests to me that lady was being rather unreasonable.

I would NEVER have complied with the request to hand my phone to the guard. Never. Not even for two seconds.

However, Sugar, if it's what you must do to feel safe, no one can hold that against you. That's your right. Unfortunately I'd have left and I would have left just as annoyed as the other bloke did.
