I got 50 cent....later R1.00 pocket money. Wilson toffees was 2 (or 5)cent...chappies 1 cent each.

There were no remotes for channel changes on the TV.
You had to get up and change the channel manually.
Was actually good excercise, we all kept fit then without having to go to the gym.

When the midnight clock came on the tv and made a terrible noise.

Lol no watching TV beyond that point. Bed time time to give the brains some rest.

There were not so many zombies walking around back then.

But I think back then Zombies where nice and innocent.unlike now they're bad there would even want to fuck you.

When We Could All Walk To The Nearest Government School From Our Home.

When There Were No High Walls Between Neighbours & We Ran Through Each Others Home's, Played & Ate Well.

When 1 Man Earned & 10 People Ate & Lived.

Correction. We never had petrol rationing but early in the seventies garages' selling hours were severely restricted. At one stage from 6pm to 6 am daily and weekends from 6pm Friday to 6am Monday you could not buy petrol.
