I just caught up on comments posted on this thread, and noticed Miss Red asked why I didn't message RB rather than post on the forum, and she continued that two wrongs don't make a right and asked whether I have some other motive.

Why I posted in the General Discussion was as an alternative to replying on the advertiser's profile where RB had posted, which was her own suggestion as to where comments should be. RB made a general scolding of those commenting on the advertiser's profile, so it warranted (in my view) a reply visible to all those so chastised.

There is a difference to a competitor posting anything, even if ostensibly supportive, on the paid profile of an advertiser here, and my commenting on the General Discussion forum, which is free and belongs to no-one other than ESA. I don't think this is a 'two wrongs' case.

Lastly, I think the reaction on this thread underscores my contention that RB has a particular brand that some advertisers might not be comfortable with which to be associated. I believe that it would be courteous on her part to ask an advertiser's permission to comment on their profile, given her somewhat controversial brand.

I have no ulterior motive or animosity toward RB; I like the advertiser in question as a person and wanted to make the points I made in the open letter. RB replied "noted" to my letter, and hopefully this has given her a different perspective on commenting on another advertiser's profile. I wish all involved nothing but the best.
