@Meg
You will definately not stand there for long. I'll drive to that corner, pick you up and take you home with me :)
On a serious note. You are not standing on a street corner asking people for money. I for one have a great deal of respect for you and all ladies in this industry for working hard to be independent and shape their own futures without looking for hand-outs.
Come on guys, let's repect the ladies for the people they are and the service they provide. Afterall, what would we do without them?

Ok, so where do we start...
I was sitting at a venue last week chatting with some ladies who were complaining bitterly about how quiet things have got.
This transpired:
The venue does not give a rats arse about anyone, you, as punter, pays entrance fee (which goes up often), you buy drinks (which go up often), the ladies pay levies (which go up). We get pissed off as there are fewer ladies going round. The ladies get pissed off because there are fewer gents turning up -- vicious circle.
Then there is the option of choices. If you don't like it get a job!!! Not so easy for these ladies who have been in the industry for a couple of years. They are used to the income and the lifestyle that they have created for themselves and going to find an office job for 8 to 10 grand a month is not going to cover their expenses. Not to mention the whole HR issue of what you have been upto for the past x years as well a BEE now days.
Not easy ladies -- I take my hat off to you

"The problem here is that certain punters see punting and therefore the ladies as a commodity."
Unfortunately, they are a commodity. Its all physical, I browse, see a hot set of pics and the call is done. I go to a venue/ club, if she is what I want on that day it done
That's punting

Almost R16 for a litre of petrol, R12.60 to the dollar, Water and Electricity up, VAT up, Income Tax up...Ladies, it's time to buckle up (yeah irony in your case, get it? Unbuckling belts) and hold the prices. If sh*t continues like this, hell you might have to drop the prices. Time to monitor your bookings and act accordingly i.e. reduce prices before someone beats you to it. Those extras, yeah, time to standardize them as part of your packaged deal.
Thank me later.
