It is very unfortunate that this dickhead of a President sees Africa as a shithole and therefore he does not want immigrants from this continent. It will be interesting to see if he will close off all his embassies and recall his officials from the shithole considering the millions of dollars the Americans have made and the conflicts they continue to create and fund in the continent for their own selfish interests. No offense to any American on the site.

Team Trump apparently never ran the order by officials at the Justice Department. Homeland Security officials were not given much guidance about how the order would be there implemented. Thus connfusion and chaos.

The ban snared green card holders and people with valid visas alike. Some travelers in the air when Trump signed the order were not able to enter the county when they landed.

Some were detained. Others were sent back from where they came from.

That is the million dollar question. Presidents have broad power in shaping immigration policy, but many critics feel part of Trumps order are unconditional and discriminatory.

This has also caused major shock waves, through the businesses world too, not to mention the students that are studying in the States.

@kukuterian time will tell. Very interesting topic.

When you have heads of state who mess with the constitutions to perpetuate their power. When you have rebel factions that kill children, disembowel women as saints, who mutilate innocent civilians. Frankly, it must be said that it's crap.

Think this tweet hit the nail on its head in response to Pres Trumps tweet

Sadly, I don't blame Trump.

I wish Cyril has the same balls and stop immigration from rest of Africa, Pakistan, Bangladesh and China into South Africa. Especially immigrants from DRC, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Mozambique and more especially Nigeria.

Nothing racist or xenophobic. Our country simply cannot sustain these immigrants. The cANCer pieces of shit fucked up this country and destroyed it economically, so we don't need the burden of non-South Africans on the system while trying to recover for the next 20 years or more.

Sadly, even asylum seekers MUST be turned away.

Mr. Trump prefers Norwegians.

Apartheid was/is a racist ideology.
Its opposite, BEE and so called "Transformation" is also just as, if not more, racist.
I see a lot of black foreigners employed by the big corporations in South Africa.
At the expense of locals.

South Africans must be given preference before employing foreigners.

Sometimes it is wise to weigh and consider what Mr. Trump has said. Do not just go off on a tangent and cry Racist. Perhaps he's right.
Zimbabwe was the jewel of Africa. Look at it now.
South Africa had a standard of living comparable to the most advanced First World democracies in the world. Mozambique, DRC, etc have also degenerated into squalid , corrupt Third World hellholes. Hillbrow was once a very upmarket sought after area to live in. It is now a hellish nightmare. The politicians in these countries are some of the best paid in the world , but most of their countrymen live in abject poverty. Don't blame colonialism.

Seems as if the truth hurts. For those decrying the West's raping of third world resources, please ask yourselves who allows said raping. If I may venture a guess, I would say the leaders who are more interested in lining their own pockets. Yet, the voting fodder keep on supporting these selfish leaders. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different outcome.

I think Trump is one of if not the worst president the US has ever had. He is probably racist, among his many shortcomings.
But i also think for once Trump was not very wrong. As the gentlemen pointed out above, Africa has very little to be proud of. Why should the US allow people ro come to their country which proudly keeps corrupt, pathetic, useless leaders in place by continuing to vote them into office? What do we as potential immigrants to offer the US that we can be proud of? I am ashamed of what we have become in the last 10 years. Hopefully Cyril can make us proud again, like the nation we were under Mandela. Until such time, i think we should shut our mouths - we have lots of work to do!

Ben, in First World democracies, do only just over 50% of the population have access to electricity? Do over 40% and 54% of the population not have access to safe water and sanitation respectively?

Back to the topic. Lots of African countries have problems generally. I don't think he's too wrong in calling them what he did. We all know the usual African story well. Is it right to discriminate against the actual people based on the fortune or misfortune of their country of birth though? Are the actual people s###holes or is it the countries?

@robbyclnl. The problem is that you get the government you deserve. Does not help blaming government. It is us the voters who are incapable of voting shithole leaders out - hence we deserve the leaders we have.
