If you do own bitcoins be very careful as your trade account migjt be compromised. Depends what you have stored on that laptop that has been hacked as thats the leverage they have. I presuming you have received some ransom demand. Purchase the Anti virus Symantec. Freeze or inform your bank and other investments you have of transfers taking place. Use double authentication for all accounts and renew all passwords. If it was random email without anyevidence then ignore.

They had some evidence as they knew my passcode for my iPad. Says he has a video of me from Pienaar site that will send to my contacts- claims that through malware has downloaded my contacts and will send a video to all!! Wants bitcoin payment to not do that. I don't have any bitcoin! Very worried!!

Blackmailing works if you are afraid. Problem is, once you make the first payment, they know you are afraid and will keep extorting you. Simply send a pre-emptive message to all your contacts, informing them that you have been hacked and that the cuprits may send falsified compromising messages to them. You apologise in advance for any inconvenience experienced by your contacts, in the event that they do receive this material and you trust that they will understand that there is scum out there, trying to harm you in any way they can, even with photoshopped and falsified pictures. As you feel you have done nothing wrong, you refuse to give in to the blackmail, as it is based on false evidence.
You will find that it will garner you a lot of support from everybody you know, and it will stop the blackmailers.
Best of luck. Kisses, Mynx

I am presuming you did some bookings at Jades old place and the person has been able to track your Ipad GPS settings. There is a hacking software to retrieve that info. Well call his bluff and view the video. If have no bitcoin you cant pay with that but with one bitcoin valued over R80k thats alot if all is real that they have on you.
Let it pass and see how if you get more mail. From now disable data on your ipad when you not using it and find the SP addres prior to driving there. You dont neet data once the route is found and GPS signal locked in. There is alot of this ransomware goinf around and it is happening to big business. Sheer blackmail tactics.

very common scam used to trick/blackmail people, similar to that of ransomware. becoming more common in the infosec world

were you using your ipad? or what type of device where you using?

there are a few keywords or phrases to look out for in the email and spot the bluff

the email will state something along these lines

a key logger has been installed on your computer and i have evidence of you

demands a sum of money or evidence will be sent to a certain number of contacts

that last thing to look out for is usually at the end of the email which makes mention of no tracking pixel in the email

you can use haveibeenpwned.com/ which can show if your data has been breached
