ok so in keeping with the good advice given here, i am now in possession of a punting sim from the local dont-tell store. (R10 from store 1 which turned out not to registered after all and then R5 from shop 2 in an ahmmmm...more "anti-sandton" type environment. this one works!)

Only problem is on truecaller it now shows "Nomfundu" which is clearly not a middle aged caucation.
so the questions are:
1. is it possible to change the name as reflected on truecaller to show my esa name?
2. failing that, how likely would wg's with ROARing profiles be to answer my call?
3. please note this is not aimed as a slant against my brother who's name is linked to the phone, but merely a question of probability in the eyes of some i may phone

Interesting! I have never checked what true caller says the name on my punting phone is...,But also never been denied a call by any girl....

Had the best laugh right now.....Shit man...that is not an ideal situation...hehe hehe. Sure you can chang the name on Truecaller....will try to find out for you Nomfundo

The name has a lovely meaning.

WG's are smart, they will answer your call and identify your accent. Truecaller is not a means to an end but simply a tool to assist amongst many other assistanting measures taken by WG's.

They will speak for themselves soon...any moment now...

I answer all calls and have had well spoken, English and Afrikaans speaking black guys book me under English or Afrikaans names, lol. Not that it matters to me, but other ladies might not answer your call if it shows up as an African name!

Hi Ystervark, download the truecaller app and just add your number and name and it will automatically update it to whatever you choose as a name.
