Hi Folks

I see this is happening more and more often

Suppose people are getting desperate.

We work mainly with the telecommunications industry and have been since the late 90's

Just some info to use

No cop, sergeant, warrant officer, inspector can get hold of your details

NO Service provider will give away you details

The only way to get you details is for a magistrate to issue a summons to a operator eg. MTN Vodacom etc.

Their fraud department will then release that information

This takes months - if one of these guys call you, tell them to F off.

I will give you an example of a murder case that we were chatting about (little bit more urgent than shagging a WG)

Not sure about case date or murder date

They wanted all the call details for a certain number

25/6/21 Summons issued

30/9/21 Summons handed to Sheriff office

4/10/21 Sheriff delivered

So please don't let these guys stuff you around or make you nervous

happened to me yersterday i posted it on the forum you can search my username.
Did exactly what you are saying told him to F off.

He called 3/4 times with his threats told him to come fetch me or we can meet at the station if i did any wrong.

modis operandi is exactly what you saying about having my info from my service provider which is a lie

The sad part is punters will be reluctant to call WG's next time and that will mean less business for them.
I will call with a private number if i decided to punt again as these made me decide to stop punting.

LADIES WHO SELL OUR INFORMATION TO THESE SCAMMERS STOP IT

Just remember guys, that the service provider / Franchisee

Their staff members have to use a OTP to login to the customer care system.

At this point we know who is logging in, the store and what the request is i.e. Billing, upgrade, payment etc of the cell number they are working on.

The operator will lay charges against the person and all hell will break loose, specially since the popi act

This is exactly what I told a 'cop' who found my number on a dead man's phone..Told him to get a warrant and get my info from Vodacom. If it's a murder case he should have no problem getting it. (I know how long these things take and I also knowhat Peterb has stated)
May I just add, not all ladies are being paid for numbers.
If this same 'cop' had called me and I was new in the industry, and especially if I did not keep company with more experienced ladies, I would possibly be duped into giving my numbers. If a lady does not know any better she could be fooled if she doesn't know how these things work and believe me there are plenty who don't know how the real world works. Also have you noticed the occasional posts stating a lady's phone has been stolen? Also some of these guys put their ladies at houses or venues and either steal ladies' phones or copy the info from other ladies'in phones. We all think we are careful. But just last night I was at a friend's and we were in the kitchen and her son came in with my phone, Nadia, jou mamma try om jou te bel. Ok, that was a 9yo and my personal phone, but still. It's not that far-fetched to believe ladies come work at a place with the express idea of gleaning contacts. My mom's number is not stored as Mom. It has a pic and our surname. 9yo has never met my mom but has seen a photo or 2 of her. Ok, it was all innocent but my phone was on the couch and I was making salads in the kitchen. So a skank lady wouldn't have too much difficulty getting a lady's call lists. She just has to wait it out.
Now these guys will not make too much effort to find out all your info,it's just too much work and they want easy money. They just move on cos there are more gullible guys or easer targets out there.

Too true Nadia. I was thinking about that...those that are naive and know no better, and then those who are simply thieves and abuse the 'carelessness' of others.

Of course there are those that will even sell their mothers for a quick buck but i wonder if there may be more to simply 'selling' a number and making both Service Provider and Punter's lives hell.
Being streetwise is sometimes better than any formal education or university degree as is being privileged in many different ways...and no, am not condoning extortion.

RB.

Sorry RB, wasn't going at you but extortion and corruption seems to be a norm in SA now days and people fall for it

We monitor and track all sorts of things.

Our last request was from a trolley company - they loose over 2000 trolleys a month???
