Does any regularly punt in Orange Grove? I ask because I don't stay in Joburg but I've driven in Orange Grove several times and from what I've seen it's not a place I'd be comfortable to visit, more especially in the evenings.

Do I have a misconception about the area?

It's a very weird place. Affluent on one side, dingy on the other. Had a girlfriend there once. Never had issues safety wise but i was always on high alert whenever I visited. Would park my car on the street overnight and never had any drama.

There's a lady currently in Orange Grove that I've been meaning to see but everytime I'm in Joburg she's not advertising. I like to punt in the evenings as that's when I'm most comfortable, but going being there in the evenings and possibly leaving the car on the street doesn't sit well with me. Hence I'm curious about the area concerning its safety.

Find out the street name...then PM me.
No need for the whole address.
I know the area, and will be able to tell you if it's safe at night.

I'm based about 2 minutes away from pick n pay orange grove off Louis Botha but on the nicer side - I always get asked if I'm not actually in orange grove but posting I'm Norwood lol but I'm also literally a minutes drive from Norwood Mall.

So I suggest check where exactly her place is on google maps she might not be on the dingy side - call and ask for an address and check

The "upper end" or northerly side of Orange Grove, nearing Norwood, Bradley etc and as mentioned by Midnight Express is a lovely side. The lower end towards Yeoville can be sketchy.

If you in doubt, Uber /Bolt is alwaysa good option so less stress to worry about parking etc.
