I see THAT repulsive word being used quite often on the site...

I am disappointed that even reputable SP's see themselves as just that...

I see it as a stygmatised term..coined by members of the human race centuries ago.by characters far worse than "prostitutes" ever were...What is THAT word supposed to (and do) convey..TODAY?...It may also have legal implications, maybe not foreseen by naive WG's.

So if THAT term is going to stick lol..in present day and time. It should at least be placed in the perspective or place ("misplace") sic it should be..

In fact I would like to see it be defined...shaken a bit and either be accepted knowingly or rejected..

I for one see it as a totally outdated and disparaging term; not appropriate to people freed by present day values..whilst acting LEGALLY ..namely practising what they are entitled to do..namely enjoying the bodily freedom the South Arican Constitution guarantees them...!

This is no legal analysis or dissertation..so dont expect detail now...you are welcome to pose questions..please don't try to be a legal expert if you are not..

My quest is...why o why do some ladies refer to themselves by a degrading term..instead of holding your heads high and take your place amongst(or gfght for it) professions, some of which you got miles of moral high ground above like 99 % of the present day politicians and public servants..no "servants" read thieves..
Dont you think you deserve better treatment..?
I am referring to posts by punters AND WG's themselves and by LAW..

So where are the historians to tell us WHERE did the term "prostitute" originate from at first.
Who coined it.and why.? The "church"? or lazy housewives..? In whose interest is it to maintain the stigma of the "oldest profession"...?
Why and who stygmatised it in the first place...?
Is it not unconstitutional NOT to legalise "it" whatever you serve?...I think it IS...so it is merely for the asking..
Enough parapraphs for slow readers..?? I hope.LOL..

A low, ugly word.
Recently used quite often on this forum.
Organized religion stigmatized it, Trompie.

Just like the word "terrorist" used wantonly by some to further a hidden agenda and suppress people's legitimate rights.

If you google, one of first definitions is "unworthy use" and you get referred to hebrew...The bible idiots in other words....
Stat...in latin means standing..pro means in front...Ok. so stand in front ... STAND proudly please..
I am surprised that no wg query the word or the connotation but accept the damnation..Many of you graduated..or highly intelligent...O can go on...but people ask for ..commas..etc..

Some may think it crude, but I prefer the word "whore" over "prostitute". I don't see anything wrong with that word. Why? "Whore" to me implies wanton, lustful and sexual, whereas "prostitute" implies transactional, business like.
What do the ladies think?

So is the term "Hooker" better?

What is it's origin?

Call Girl is pretty easy to understand

I personally prefer the word working girl or escort for this industry. To me a prostitute stands on a street corner ready to put her life at risk for her next fix.
I don't like that word for us ladies who have class and run professional businesses

I agree with Trompie and Ben Layden, and like what Nicole says to, if there has to be a word the WG, or maybe companion might even be better. The reason I say this is simple the ladies I know and have met here are just that ladies who provide a service of companionship. Like in any industry some might be better than others, and because it's a personal thing I may not click with everyone but that does not make it the ladies fault.
Respect for each other goes a long way in all having fun and enjoyment.

A prostitute by any other name, would still smell as despicable to the upstanding members of Society - because the stigma isn't in the P or the R.O.S >>> It's in the act of selling what is supposedly sacred and holy and blah blah, blah... NEXT!

Then there's the HATE, which is really just love turned frownwards... for the sheer audacity to take what's freely available, dress it down in little to nothing, dunk it in cheap perfume and sell it as 'time share' like a true boss...

Prostitute, Whore, WG, Whatever... Just call me.

To a degree I agree. To Joe Public EVERYTHING we are called has a negative connotation.....and that includes massage girls on a sex for sale site.
Personally I see myself as a Sexworker. It may be all semantics, but be that as it may, I'm a sexworker.
I don't like being called a hooker or a whore or a prostitute. Some ladies don't mind it but I do.
