What is it about a Monday that really takes such an effort to get out of the starting blocks ?

Is it the fact that you had a fairly miserable and lonely weekend, and Monday is not looking any better ? Is it the lethargy that usually surrounds me on a lonely Sunday that extrapolates into Monday ?

Got up at 5 and hit the gym. That usually helps getting the week started. Had a sushi date with Layla, and if that alone is not enough to turn any Monday into a great day, then very few other things will. But then illness struck, and she was available no more. Back into the pit I fall.

But then the live version of Sir Bob joining Bon Jovi on stage started playing, and as I increased the volume to slightly less than ear shattering, my mood started clearing up into the ever positive, ever hoping for miracles, ever wishing for the unwishable, came shining through, and I realise then what a magic thing music is to us.

It has the ability to lift the spirit, it can pull you down, it can remind you of happier times.
