I read the article below. My question to the IT gurus is this:
Surely if you do not use facebook to login to porn sites, it can't be linked to your facebook profile? Or can it?

You should be worried of using mobile devices and tablets running android, if you use Gmail, google and youtube. You use google and youtube one device but your history all shows on the other device. Fuck you google one account

That's why I use a completely different web browser for this site and private searches. I never log into any of those common accounts or share my location on this browser. Also clear everything from it daily such as history, form data, passwords, cookies etc.

Don't make it your default browser so you don't get ESA popping up when your wife clicks an innocent link or search for some new shoes. Also set the settings to delete or clear all browsing data on exit. A bit annoying to have to login again if you completely exit by mistake but better that than someone getting in and reading your messages etc.

There has been some weird things going on recently. On a few occasions suddenly wg's personal FB profiles started to pop up in my people you may know suggestions. It is freaky because I never even knew those profiles existed, so it's not like I searched them before, I have a separate fake account for that, and even there I didn't search them. I recognised the girls from their pictures, including a Thai girl from Pammys whose name is spelt in those funny letters so I would have never come across her profile. Weird.

I have 2 questions for IT boffins.

1.They say one of the best search engines to use for privacy is Duck Duck Go as it doesn't track your searches. When you have however done a search in Duck Duck Go and you click on one of the search results, are you then being tracked or is your browsing still private?

2. Is there a browser out there that doesn't keep track of your movements or sites you visit?

There's a lot of articles out there about online privacy. Fact is you can only do so much online that cannot be traced.

On FB; friend suggestions will pop up if you save a phone number on your phone and that same phone number is on that persons FB profile. Say for example you visit Bloemfontein, you have not been there before and you don't know a soul there, so you do a "check-in" on FB. Now if you have a friend(s) that has FB friends who live in Bloemfontein than that person will come up as a suggestion. If you belong to a FB group, similar thing applies. What you search online comes up as page suggestions on FB. If you search for fishing spots in the cape on Google, then later on you go to FB, you might see suggestions on groups or fishing charter pages in the Cape.

If your Geo-location is active on your smartphone, turn it off. If you use your phone as a GPS with Google Maps then take 2 minutes just to clear history and log out the app.

I have 2 google accounts, 1 normal and 1 for the funny stuff. I always log out, clear everything before logging out.

With google there is a feature called incognito mode whereby nothing gets saved in your history. No cookies either
