This post is inspired by a gentleman who has visited me on more than one occasion.
And thru casual conversation, our love of music became the strong bond of passionate sessions shared.

A nostalgic gentleman who has touched the depths of nostalgia in me and makes my heart beat a different rythm....

For u.....

"the theme from schindlers list performed by the Boston Symphonic orchestra, playing in the background
(....play it while reading....)

Our life rolls out before us.
Choices made.
Regrets painful.
Loves unconquered
Unrequited.

Words unsaid.

Hugs not given.

Smiles that steal a mans heart.

Wisdom fails as longing beats down the door of logic.

Choices made.

Life a painfully beautiful experience.

Weep with joy for the choices made were the best then and now.

And the sun rises and life rolls on......."

We all wonder at one point in our lives.....

What if.

Soul-stirring music, Bridgitte. The sadness, the heartache and the pain... but when contrasted with the intrigue, happiness, the joy of unfulfilled love, the immense high of being in-love... it somehow seems worth it, especially when young. Two people in love -- it's fantastic!

To remind us, KIng Solomon (and his Shulamite bride):

The bride:
Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth: for thy love is better than wine.
Because of the savour of thy good ointments thy name is as ointment poured forth, therefore do the virgins love thee.

Others:
Draw me, we will run after thee: the king hath brought me into his chambers: we will be glad and rejoice in thee, we will remember thy love more than wine: the upright love thee.

The bride:
I am black, but comely, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, as the tents of Kedar, as the curtains of Solomon.
Look not upon me, because I am black, because the sun hath looked upon me: my mother's children were angry with me; they made me the keeper of the vineyards; but mine own vineyard have I not kept.

Solomon:
Tell me, O thou whom my soul loveth, where thou feedest, where thou makest thy flock to rest at noon: for why should I be as one that turneth aside by the flocks of thy companions?
If thou know not, O thou fairest among women, go thy way forth by the footsteps of the flock, and feed thy kids beside the shepherds' tents.
I have compared thee, O my love, to a company of horses in Pharaoh's chariots.
Thy cheeks are comely with rows of jewels, thy neck with chains of gold.

Others:
We will make thee borders of gold with studs of silver.

The bride:
While the king sitteth at his table, my spikenard sendeth forth the smell thereof.
A bundle of myrrh is my well-beloved unto me; he shall lie all night betwixt my breasts.
My beloved is unto me as a cluster of camphire in the vineyards of Engedi.

Solomon:
Behold, thou art fair, my love; behold, thou art fair; thou hast doves' eyes.

The bride:
Behold, thou art fair, my beloved, yea, pleasant: also our bed is green.
The beams of our house are cedar, and our rafters of fir.

Love so luscious. So poignant.

How wonderful it would be to be the bride of Solomon.

Jameslasting....a piece of theatre to be lost in.

As to the piece of music....like most pieces
.......

When we let the soul listen

Then we truly hear.

Love is great, but relationships, especially those that are close and loving, make one vulnerable, and for me personally, something that I can ill afford. My own personal risk management strategy is not for everyone, but it works.

Your heart is precious, Russian Bridgitte, and you need look after it.

Love

Sometimes it finds us no matter how strategically one may try to avoid it.

The desire to be loved.
The need to belong.

Potentially in both cases ,loneliness can make one give ones heart away to the most glib tongued suitor whose interests are far from honourable.

Yes. The heart is precious. And thus, it does not swoon easily at professed words of "love" made by many admirable a gentleman.

You see
The embers of lust burn fiercer than the gentleness of love....
