There are much harder places to punt. Note that it is a good idea to do your research BEFORE you go because the Thai authorities ban websites with "inappropriate content". This means that millions of websites will be inaccessible in thailand, including punting review.

With the rand as it is it can get quite pricey. Bangla road is obviously the place to start but the prices there are also the highest.

There are streetwalkers on Bangla Road and immediately around. there are a few small bars which may be more to your liking.

The ladies may or may not rip you off but the tuk tuk drivers definitely will. Hire a car, so much easier and you will be able to get to some of the smaller bars along the main beach road which I thought were more fun.

I thought that the strip bars were good value for money for strip dances, not for sex though.

A note on Thais- they are very conservative, the reason that they put up with prostitution is because they are also very tolerant. Thai women don't think of sex as a big deal and they expect you to treat them like a GF. Take them to a restaurant, then to your hotel!

Enjoy your time there but a few words of advice from someone who has been there at least 10 times.
Do not pick up a street hooker as you have no recall when something goes wrong (two of my friends were drugged and robbed) rather pay the bar fine and take a girl from one of the many of bars on Bangla Road
If she is really stunning leave it alone as it is more then likely a Lady Boy
Treat the people with respect and they will do the same for you.
