Abu Dhabi is in the UAE which is Muslim. Not as stringent as Saudi as long as you are on the international side i.e., the resorts where alcohol is also allowed to be consumed openly. In Dubai in the resorts hookers are open about their intentions and people tend to turn a blind eye

Not at all dangerous, it is similar to Dubai. No affection in public, only certain hotels will allow guests to visit, so make sure you do stay in a "green" hotel.

I am in one of the big well known western hotels, meant for businessman. Not really a place I would think of booking for a holiday, not that Abu Dhabi would be high on my places to go for a holiday.

The rule in the UAE is that if you take a woman to you room it must be your wife and you must produce a marriage certificate which is approved by the country you are visitings Embassy and customs as well as the local ministry.
