Given where we are, as well as where we are heading, looks like SA life will become more expensive for everyone.

Generally it is a very tricky situation for WGs. I would expect middle class punters would become more price sensitive this visiting less WGs and become more picky on WGs.

From a WG perspective, if she increases her fees she will likely lose clients, but if she keeps her same price, she still will have to bear the additional living costs

My view would be that most WGs would keep their price flat during this time as they are in the entertainment industry and dependent on the client's disposable income.

Maybe I am generalizing too much but besides the top WGs ( those that demonstrated great service with a large number of regulars) we could foresee a shrinkage of WGs on this website. Do you think this may happen?

my opinion is that recession has no real impact on punting.

This is not the oldest proffesion for no reason. WGs will always have punters visiting them. other side of the coin is that in times of recession, wgs business might pick as depressed punters look for ways to cheer themselves up.

judging how difficult it is the last 2 days to get a booking with JayLee and Kirsty Id say all is well in punting land.

When I met Clarissa and Gabbi for the first time in Mountainview I paid R500 an hour. They then got poached by HOE and the price to see the exact same girls, experiencing the exact same service suddenly set me back R1350.

this is a crazy business that cannot be fully rationalised.

look at some of the known crack heads in centurion for example also, one of them whose been here on ESA since 2003 and she still advertises every month. which means there are punters booking her.

True. There will be definitely be a proportion of punters who will be punt to escape depression.

I think we have not really felt it yet. We should see the first real effects of our dismal economy start at the end of this month - increasing food prices and interest rate hike. This will be the true test to The industry as a whole.

we'll see.

another thought, the Bucleugh scammers are still advertising on another sites which means they are still making money.

with the ZAR soon hitting R20 to the US$, overseas punters are going to have a great time in SA. dont underestimate the lure of sex tourism. For years the kakkest and ugliest Cape wgs could charge R800 to R1000 an hour because a drunk foreigner easily paid their fees in clubs like The Castle, Penthouse Dolls etc. Imagine now they can probably charge R2000 an hour - $100.

I am quite sure you are on point on the foreign punter analysis. The majority of WGs have predominately local punters and they will feel the heat for the majority of the year.

Would like to hear your view on this question: do you think WGs will hike their prices this year from R650 to R850 or from R800 to R1000? Do you think punters will continue to see them or seek out more cost effective alternatives?

I already punt 90% of the time in the R800 to R900 bracket.

maybe once every 2 months I spoil myself at HOE and blow R3000. HOE is a treat for me. In not Kickass or Q who can afford to blom there all da time.

and sometimes I enjoy a few good R600ph gals.

Like how u guys put the economic situation in view for us punters, cause u know there are people in this country who fail to realise the significance of these things in our country, they have submit themselves to this crooked regime that they fail to see what's good for this country

The common man will only feel it until it affects him personally. When jobs are cut, bread costs more and taxi prices skyrocket then he will know.

Unfortunately this is the payment for bad leadership and it is a lesson we will and must learn.

Punters and WGs, brace yourselves for a tough year ahead and hope that SA learns quickly!
