I just realised it again today - we need beauty parlours for men.
Being the metro man that I am, I visit my barber regularly to do what I can to draw attention away from the middle age and the boep. With winter being on the doorstep, I let the beard come out as well, so barber needs to trim that too.
Now when I say barber - today was the first time in quite a while that I visited a "real" barber as in a guy, with a red and white pillar in front of his shop, a proper barber's chair, all the tools, blades and gimmicks etc. But that was just because I was in a hurry - usually when I let someone play with my hair, I go through great lengths to find a decent place where the talent inside seems to favour the chances of not getting stuck with the moffie doing the gents cuts. (No offence meant to any moffies or talent out there, I am just being descriptive).
But today got me thinking - we really need proper beauty parlours, where we know the beauties inside will take good care of us. Where I can also get a menu or pricelist to choose my grooming pleasures.
Add to the boep and beard, that with age and testosterone, hair starts sprouting like a wild kikuyu lawn on every patch previously meant to be displayed.
At this stage, I pretty much feel like Wolverine needing to walk into a place of serenity and placing my order:
"Good morning ma'am... full cut please and thank you - short back & sides, trim the face while you're at it. Also add a neckjob - all the way down to the belt-line, front and back. What the hell, here's the belt, include the wrinkly old man and his nutjobs. You make him happy, I pay double".
No massage bullshit - just actual value for money....
