This has come up many times before. Please erase enquiries on your phone and even on your punting phone. A wife or SO just called me saying she found this sim card and my number was dialled. Fortunately she dropped some info on her hubby's occupation and I just ran with it.
I will never expose a punter, maar as jy te dom is, moenie jol nie.

Oh it's bad. Happened to me too... All I said was that I used to sell assurance and had many calls from people asking me for quotes... it's really scary shit.

Was at a venue in Bedford view, wife/gf/women was sitting opposite the road, notepad writing down number plates. Ford ranger came in as I left. Really dislike venues. Although single, but still work I am in prefer to keep my things to myself.

Punting phone hell yeah

This woman asked who I was and I said I am Nadia from XYZ enterprises. She asked if I was looking for an abc. I just ran with it. Fortunately, there was a little accident in the complex on Sunday and certain repairs had to be done. And this was fresh in my mind and in line with her hubby's business. She seemed OK with my response. But there should be so many questions. Why did hubby call from a sim that isn't in his phone? Where did he get my number and how did he know I needed his services?.....He phoned me, not the other way round.

Agreed, guys should cover their tracks properly. I have lost count how many times over the years I have had to cover for guys, most of whom I have never even met.

Usually I will spin a story, saying that they called me about one of my other businesses, but 2 times clients that I did actually meet, got caught out and I ended up being confronted by the wife in person. It is really not nice to be put in such a position.

1.DO NOT save screenshots of profile adverts or physical copies of newspaper adverts!

The first time, client got caught out with phone records and a saved copy of my advert. He was a good regular client from the USA. Advert shows my phone number, so I could not deny it. Mother in Law got shown the same evidence by the wife and called me as well, swearing me broken. Cut a very long story short, client begged me to come to their hotel to talk to wife and help him save the marriage. At first I said no, because wife was very angry and aggressive, but he was a very long standing regular client and over the years had become a good friend. So I went there, stressed that wife is gonna kill me on the spot. She was very drunk and aggressive, but I managed to calm her down and we had a very long chat. A few weeks later when they were back in the USA, she called to apologize and they invited me to go with them on a 3 month cruise (all expenses paid including airfare and handsome payment for my time, to make up for what they put me through) in the Caribbean on their yacht. Needless to say I declined the offer, as I didn't want to become fish food. I never saw the client again...

2.MAKE SURE you switch your phone off or lock your phone screen, before you get out of the car!

Second time, a client booked me for the first time and left after the appointment. About and hour or two afterwards, client pitches up again, with another car driving in behind him. It was the wife. Turns out, when he arrived for the booking, he pocket dialed his wife. Phone was open for the entire duration of the appointment. The wife heard every single thing that went on in the room. She confronted him, he could not deny it, confessed everything and when the wife insisted that he brings her to confront me, he complied. There was not much I could do. I took her to the room and talked to her, trying to calm her down and explained to her that I was not interested in her husband, that it was about services rendered for money only. She calmed down a bit, but was still extremely upset when they left. I never saw the client again....

If a punter has a punting phone or sim he must hide those well and its imperative that evidence be deleted.
One day a wife found e-mails on her hubby's work email acc. He brought her to my door and I played oh so innocent. A few weeks later she called me for advice.
A few months down the line the bastard calls me again. Eeerrrrr, No thanks. So you can throw me under the bus again? I would think not!
