I just called a work college from my phone to demonstrate true caller. He did not have my number stored and was expecting my name to appear. The name that showed was xxxESA. Checked my true caller profile and it shows my name and not xxxESA.

Why would it show xxxESA and not my name while my name is on my profile details? How do I change this?

I believe Truecaller shows the name that other people save your number as.

I also think truecaller shows names that others have designated to you regardless as to what you saved yourself as.
I have seen disturbing truecaller ID'so

Coincidentally I had a brief discussion with someone regarding the potentially disastrous implications to users and the utter lack of protection against abuse.

Truecaller is a handy app and I love it but the developers should look into protecting users.

A true caller user has saved your number as xxxESA. To rectify this, ask 1 to 3 users to save your number with your real name. Then problem solved.

With this post it is the first time I heard about truecaller and had to google it. Is it in any way useful if the identity on the caller ID can be changed by random people? I can just imagine the horrible names it can be saved under, just as Jaxon@nuruSA said.
