Hi everyone

Let me firstly state this post is not to bring up the "race" fight yet again......"race" is a VERY sensitive topic hence I refrain from engaging in any posts which contain this topic. My plea for understanding is the following....If you are aware "race" is a sensitive topic for some (perhaps not for everyone....?) Why do you ask the question "what race are you?" I have and will NEVER ask a potential client what "race" he is because it doesn't matter to me. A person is a person and I wasn't raised to see the colour of a person's skin. If you have a certain preference for a particular "race" because that "race" was previously forbidden to you, as a male friend suggested to me, can you kindly indicate that in communications, I.e. I have a preference for indian ladies and want to check if you are what I'm looking for....so that some of us who are particularly offended by "race" can then say yes I am what you are looking for or no...keep looking. My apologies if some may think this post is trivial...yet as I never ask what "race" you are I feel offended when I am asked. I believe we are ALL part of the "human race" and that is the only "race" I believe there is. I come from a mixed background with British Indian Spanish German.... great grandparents hence cannot identify with the label "coloured"....which is probably why my family raised me to not see the exterior of a person because of the persecution they went through growing up during apartheid having parents of two different "races" and living two different lives when they went out in public with one or other parent.....It was a very difficult time for many people....so please I'm asking from the bottom of my heart for some empathy when communicating your wants and needs to none white ladies....Some may not care....others, like me, feel deeply offended because all I see is a person...not the exterior. I'm sure some gents will be sick and tired of all the rules and regulations imposed upon them in this space.....All I'm asking for is respect and understanding with sensitive issues. @ Jewel...Well said. I guess its going to take a very long time for this change to be seen in SA. We experience some form or the other of this distasteful phenomenon of racism daily. I do believe that this will change, only in the next 3-5 generations...really sad though cos, in my world its the human race I see - as skyblue100 also alluded to.
