*Important FYI*

So for those that are using dual SIM as a punting phone and Truecaller installed, please be warned.

I found recently that calling people I know from the correct non-punting number revealed my punting alias (another made up name) as the person calling even though they have my primary number saved as me.

Seems Truecaller now doesn't use the number you're calling from to identify on the receiving end. Instead, it uses the Truecaller ID on the sending end if they have Truecaller installed to identify the person in the recieving end.

This can obviously cause problems for married people etc so take note guys.

Mine doesnt do that, It could be that I have a foreign number maybe?

I use private space different TC instances on each side.

Unless someone has both your numbers and updated your name to contain both names on TC

Now this is a concern. Punter phone is now definitely a must. Dual sim clearly not a good option.

I've got different dual SIM phones with different profiles so each profile has it's own TC profile too.

Whichever TC profile you're on, it will show that to the person you call.

So if you call from your normal SIM or punting SIM with profile 1, TC1 name will show. Problem here is WG will get your real name even with a call from a punting SIM.

If you call from your punting profile with either SIM, TC2 name will show. Problem here is your loved ones might get your punting name, but will definitely get another TC name which I'm sure you see the problem.

So make sure you only call loved ones while in the normal profile from your normal number. Only call wgs from your punting profile with your punting SIM. Keep those in sync and exclusive and you're good.

Valid warning though. Made this fuck up a few times.

Most people that has Truecaller has it set as their primary app for calls and SMSes.

So when you have a dual SIM phone or opt to put in your punting SIM in your everyday phone. DO this first.

Change from TC as main app for calls and SMSes to your normal phone app.

That way that call from your punting sim don't get routed through the truecaller app.
