Apart from the obvious benefits regarding this, one biggie would be to stop the cop scams that are getting more and more bothersome. The only reason these scams happen is due to the illegal status of sex work.
Thoughts?

I think the cop scams will still be there even after sex work becomes legal. These guys prey on the need for discretion. People pay those fake cops because they are afraid that their business will be known by their friends and family.

Just look at Australia. The legalisation of sex work has many many benefits.

It also means sex workers do need to register to pay tax like any other business but they do benefit from protections of the law.

Yes, ilegal grounds are used as a scare and consequence tactic
Maybe a definite decrease not a permanent solution

I don't think it should be encouraged, but it shouldn't be illegal. Legal or not it's going to happen anyways. If an escort is abused or raped or whatever, they are less likely to report it if it's illegal preventing the people who should be locked up from facing consequences.

For anything illegal people say if they legalise it, it will happen more which isn't true. This who wanted to do it will do it. Not the same, but weed is legal now and I don't really know anyone who never smoked it started now because it's legal. People do what they want to do most of the time.

I agree with dude26

And the mere fact that sex workers dont report rapes or abuse is sad. As we are all human. If you report it and they dont want to help you cause it was a sex worker that police or who ever is violating your human rights.

In Australia you are registered and pay tax and as a sex worker you may buy a house or a car through a bank.
Working at a club, you have to have a clean bill of health, checked by a government appointed dr , once a month. If you can show your Dr's card, you can't book shifts.
