Opened my personal Facebook today.. And there is a post in my news feed..

It is in great sadness that we will say our last farewells to....on the 12/10/19.. The service will be....

My heart sank, my tummy turned and a great sadness took hold of me. This was someone that was a client since way back when. He was also one of the very few that I also labeled as friend..

I sat there reading through the comments and post. He passed due to cancer.. Which I knew about ,but that he told me a few months ago was in remission. We haven't talked in about 6 weeks and as I always wait for him to send first message or call.

Our last conversation we where talking about everything except his cancer issues. He never brought it up and neither did I.. But I do remember when we said goodbye his last words where.. Bye rooikop, take care and thank you for all the good times and memories..I will see you on the flip side..

That memory now just makes me very sad as I think he knew and did not what to tell me..

Being a SP and having no plausible reason to be on his friends list that I can explain to family or friends that might come across my name on his friends list,I unfriended his account from my friends list.. Cowardly? Maybe? But I do not want to risk having his memory tainted with the possibility of some family member figuring out he was visiting a SP..

I will not be able to go say last farewells like his normal friends it would not be right on so many levels.

I will miss him. Not for the *punter* he was but for the friend he was.. On some level I wish I could go say goodbye..but I know that he did say goodbye to me even though I did not know it at the time..

My condolences Louise.
I often am concerned when clients just stop visiting and wonder if they have died. One becomes friends with some guys and we will never know if anything has happened to them and we don't get the opportunity to pay our last respects in the way we would any other friends.
I am sure this shocked you to the core. The memories will always be precious.

# thank you everyone for your condolences and warm wishes I do appreciate it.

*we care for people on some level specially when they have been part of your life so long. I know their will be some that will say we should not care, but I am human first and then a SP. Caring about people is part of who I am.

Him passing just made me realise again how fleeting life can be. Remember to say I care. Today might be the last chance you get to do so.

my respect to you lady for caring. that is one thing no money can buy. your story speaks of humanity. of shared pockets of solice. of mutual respect (in its true meaning). of celebrating life. of being beautiful.

what non purple people and unfortunately even a few purple people will never get is that sp does not stand for sex provider and that the repertoir of services you do offer include invaluable things like unconditional acceptance, a fragility without fear space and a secret hideaway from the rest of the world.
know that if he did not feel it and cherish it he would not have returned and you would not have been on his friend list in the first place.

like an old lady told me once many years ago and what shocked my naive 25y old self at the time: "its much easier to recover after opening up your legs to the wrong one than it is to recover from opening your heart to wrong one". here you have the same phenomenon but from the filpside as he may not have been a "wrong" one, but you have lost more than an occasional income.

good luck would be a crappy wish as it has nothing to do with luck, so ill stick to the afrikaans and say sterkte!

ps: and to end off on a lighter tone true to the spirit if the industry: thanks also for sharing that there is caring in a space of staring :)
