A social experiment was done to investigate the following:
Do we perceive beauty?
Do we stop to appreciate it?
Do we recognize true talent in an unexpected context?
You can read the story here:
www.liveabout.com/a-violinist-in-the-metro-3299658
but the short side is that a world renowned violinist selling out a concert hall at $100 per seat could not even make $40 in a subway busk.
So what does that have to do with us? Point is don't judge quality on superficial criteria and assumptions. No profile pic of a top-of-the-charts song, pic of the constitution nor a pic of a poetry collection from Blake, will get a lot of inquiries. Likewise, no series of pics can ever capture all of Mia, which is why she is called the original!!
Don't miss out! Go pay a visit!

About the violinist.. not so sure if this is an accurate experiment. It's 2 quite different things if people book a ticket fo go see a show they like in their free time, compared to people in rush hour, on a cold morning I might add, rushing past a violinist. At the show he would attract only fans. In the metro maybe not, because they are thousands of different people. Like comparing mangoes to litchis I think.

I mean I like good music, but I'm not going to stop in Jhb rush hour traffic to stop and watch the Rolling Stones play on the the island next to the metro cops.

My thought for a Friday evening.

well that in itself is the point. if you are so stereotype focussed that you wont stop for the stones in the subway, you may well also be one of those who refused to print jkr's book.
"extraordinary" by deffinition can not be found in the ordinary.
btw just asking and not attacking, but i guess you take the same route to work each day? :)))
im to crazy for that!

I said stones next to the metro cops man. We don't have subways. C'mon now. Dont be so crazy and take the same route to work, maybe you notice something worthwhile to stap at in that route.
