So a friend sent me a clip of a person getting robbed in traffic like they literally opened the door of the car stole some stuff and went off so if you are a car behind and witnessing it what do you do just ignore it? Or help? I'm like shocked that people will just look on and just video it..

No matter what, do not get involved.

Criminals don't care and will not hesitate to kill you. Rather assist post the incident than try and be brave.

Lol I just ask because I have never been put in such a situation I'm guessing I would just not get involved as well unless I have a gun

I had the same question too. My first reaction was I would have jumped out and shoot at the guy opening the door. Now common sense kicks in. I probably would have shot him too, all good. But then no.2 is a 50/50 shot and more likely I would not have even seen him if I reacted as soon as I saw it going down. Next thing is there's tons of car's in front. Who knows who's kids, wives, mother's etc I may hit with a stray bullet. They had a gun to the ladies chest while they took the stuff, he probably still would have shot her before going down. 2 would be aiming at me including my child in the backseat and whoever else was in traffic behind and along side me.

I actually think what happened was probably the best outcome of an avoidable horrible situation. It makes me sick but them just getting the things and getting away without any fatalities and the recording to raise awareness and serve as evidence is better than no record or 1 bad guy and 1 or more good people dying for some cash or a phone.

I was in Pretoria in the middle of peak time traffic, cars behind, in front and on both sides when I had 3 guys smash and grab me at the driver side. It felt like forever but only took a couple of seconds and all they got away with was my gps as I fought back. No one came to help but I don't blame them at all. It's not worth a life! Even if you are armed as well there are normally more guys involved than what the eye can see.
It's a good thing it was caught on tape as this might help catch the guys.

As a single woman in South Africa I'm always looking over my shoulder... Locking myself in... setting my alarm during the day when I'm alone at home... Having my panic button with me at all times... Watching the street when I pulled up in my driveway... I might be over reacting but it's reality... I honestly think I'll go into shock if I see this happening in front of me... not because I don't wanna help, but because my life is worth nothing to the criminals...

The thugs are prepared to kill to get away if you offer some impedance to their plan.
they will not hesistate to take YOU the helper out & ditch the "gig" totally to get away clean!

Some go as far as looking for and cleaning up loose ends (escaped witnesses). So they can even hunt you down to prevent ID. As someone said earlier a setup involves a lot more people than you can see - several spotters some not even close to the action spot, comms guys, the actual trigger guy(s), loaders, getaway driver(s) etc.
