Guys from Rustenburg do I have to a reason to worry as I'll be working there tomorrow based on what I heard on the news about violence against brothels there?

Depends where you are going to work, it seems that most of the violence was happening in the downtown area, where they closed the roads for the Rea vaya bus service. If you looking to punt maybe check the area with the lady you intend to visit first..
