Overnight booking

Hi gents and ladies
I am in the process of making my first overnight booking. I would appreciate any tips. I'm interested in how many hours is an overnight booking and other so called "house rules", what's the normal rate,what's the wgs expectations etc. Any other added info is also appreciated.
