From a punter side I know that business in general is pretty bad at the moment.
I know a wg who is down in Cape Town who says that she only had 3 bookings this week. And this from a top class lady.

Was wondering how the ladies here in Gauteng are doing?

I'm working on a Saturday...a day always reserved for my studies....the first week of the month was great....it's died down considerably and I'm wondering if I'll be able to pay my rent on the 30th....my phone hasn't rung once today and all I've received are useless pictures via WhatsApp and sms's from a guy claiming to be my "biggest fan" and continuously asking for pictures....so yeah it feels like guys want everything for next to nothing forgetting that when they don't have much to spend we have even less....I suspected April would be tough with the vat and fuel increases and all the increases linked to those two items....it's a concern but what else can we do but soldier on!

Thanks for the reply Jewel. Yes I can believe that things are tough out there. Hope things get better for you soon.

It's quite scary.... read somewhere that PNP has done over R1bn on their credit card business in 6 months.

I known the punting community is not exactly the same that would get a PNP credit card- but it just goes to show the state of the economy.

This is however the oldest profession in the world- so it will survive- but I think we can all reminisce about the golden days.

The economy is fucking around with all of us......most of us. But I do believe that things will get better as well. Not sure how....but it will.

I admire your confidence, but as an outsider looking in, why would people invest in SA? The problem is with no investment, no jobs. I saw how tough things were last time I was home

Im always confident. Sometimes confident with absolutely no hope in hell of any success... I dunno Sir. Maybe Sweden buy out South Africa or something.
