A happy sankranti to my regulars.Unfortunately I will be celebrating this festival in S.... h...e seychelles. Nothing to do there.

Hope you flew a kite high up in the magnificent blue sky. Lit a bonfire, danced to drum beats of the Dhol. Ate popcorn, peanuts, jaggery and sesame sweets.
I celebrated with my Indian friends in Jhb. Last night we celebrated
Lohri (Punjabi) festival. This
morning we cooked delicious sweet rice outside in a new pot on
the fire in celebration of Thai Pongal (South Indian) festival.
Followed by a hearty vegetarian feast of South Indian, Gujerati and Bengali dishes and sweet treats.
Spend the afternoon with the kids flying kites in the park. Was so much fun reminded me of my childhood and how special my grandparents made each festival for us.
