Has it happpend to you over the years? Havin just passed 45 recently it seems like sex isnt as important as it use to be.

Nothing much has changed in my life maybe just getting older.
If anything im probably in the best shape of my life.

Not yet at a stage where i would be seeking help from the blue pill but it has crossed my mind.

At what age is this normal?

Get a younger girlfriend ?????

Sorry can't help. I am a good 10+ years older than you and don't have the same problem. My sex drive has increased as I got older.

Have your testosterone levels checked
These tend to dip as one climbs into middle age
Lower levels can be boosted and you ll be good to go.

.... and your hormones are likely fine if you keep active / do some sport - which you indicated you do I think?
Then see a doc and tell him you wanna be the old bull again, bonk 3x a day again, you'll not be the first to ask him that.

As we age, it is normal for libido to wane a bit, but when reaching the 45 year mark, consciously or subconsciously, some of us start evaluating our lives and find that the pleasures of old now leaves us cold and realize that it does not have as much meaning or importance, as what we have attached to it in the past and that we do not need it to be happy...so our priorities and needs change accordingly.

Perhaps it has to do with thoughts of our own mortality taking center stage when we reach a certain age, or a case of no longer needing approval/validation/admiration for our sexual prowess and/or the need for sexual gratification. Sexual gratification is then replaced with other things, that bring more meaning to our lives. Often traumatic experiences, for instance the death of a family member or friend, can also trigger waning sex drive, due to it making us aware of our own mortality.

Imo waning sex drive does not necessarily always point to health issues, however it is always a good idea to have a thorough medical checkup first, to eliminate any possible health reasons.

Check your heart.

It is one of the early warning signs.

My spirit (read sex drive) is still more than willing however, the flesh is not as willing as I would like it to be. BTW I am in my sixties.
