This is nothing to do with punting but just have to share.....During the week driving in Cape Town coming from Strand...passed a old lady that was walking next to the road. Coloured lady. Well dressed and carry a basket..so the weather in CTown really crappy. Upon passing I looked in my mirror and could see she is struggling in the weather. After about 1km I decide to stop. Do something I never do is pick up a person hicking a lift..Turned back and stopped next to her. Asked her where she going. Told me she is going to Polsmoor Prison. Then I had second thoughts but to late and told her to get in..While driving I asked her if she visiting family member that is in Prison..She replied NO. She goes there Once a week and visit prisoners that don't get visits. Take them Vetkoek she bakes at home. And her Bible and go and pray for them.. Know the place I picked her up is on the Strandfontein Mitchells Plain road. Its a distance from the prison..So I ask her does she walk that far every time...her reply left me speechless..No she said God always helps her with someone to pick her up and that today was my turn!!! Gosh did that make me feel bad but got me thinking the whole day!!!I will never forget this incident ever!!
