What on earth is the fascination with this type of situation/fantasy?

I am asking because for some reason this seems to be becoming more and more common.

Please don't get me wrong, I do understand that everybody is wired differently, and we all have our fetishes, but for the life of me I cannot understand what the hype about it is.

I think it's a case of people being more open about their fantasy or fetish. It also depends on which source led you to believe that it's becoming more common? Technology has assisted in becoming better at data analysis, so if for instance your site is receiving more cuckold requests or searches, it simply means you're just meeting that demand as it's far easier to indulge in this fantasy behind your computer where 'nobody' can see you.
