Mr A has been trying for a very long time now to get a booking with me, but schedules don't allow for him to come through in the week. I told him that if I could line up another client for a Saturday or Sunday, it would be worth the travel and time out of my day. (I work in Pretoria but live in Joburg... bit of a commute there.)
Enter: Mr B. Also trying hard for an appointment, also says the weekend works best.
I think, how perfect! I organise for 11am with Mr A, 12:15 for Mr B today.
Darling Mr A inboxes me to say he is so sorry, but he needs to reschedule. He did this well in time and it's all good between him and me. (Our day will come!) But what to do about Mr B? I figure, poor guy, all this effort... I can't let him down. Coming in just for him isn't ideal, but I won't die or anything.
I arrive at our delightful little venue, set everything up, locked and loaded and good to go!
Only to be told that he is at home, on his way, confirm the address, he's still at home, nope, actually, he's not coming!
His justification for this is I didn't respond to a message he sent yesterday, when I was spending the day with my family, my work phone switched off and out the way. (Out of interest, the message he sent simply read: Good afternoon.)
So I'm now sitting pretty with nothing to show for it!
Please guys, we have lives outside the industry that we need to protect just as much as you do. If a girl's phone is off, you can assume she's not working, and can always contact her again when you know she is. Most especially if you know she's going to extra lengths to accommodate you.
Sigh.
Happy Sunday everyone... hope it's going better than mine!!
