Following a remarkable comment by an advertiser I am curious if anyone feels that they are either hen picked by their wife or girlfriend.

Perhaps some punters would like to suggest anti-hen picking strategies?

My favourite <I am the boss> trick is to remind the wife that booking months in advance means nothing to me. "We have a wedding on the weekend? Oh, well, I don't really know them. I am still going fishing."

Wives use the booking method to get husbands to do things that they would otherwise never do.
"but you agreed to come to the wedding 7 months ago"
"yes that was when I had nothing better to do."
"If you love me then you will come to the wedding"
"If you love me then you want me to be happy, which happens when I go fishing."

By no means am I henpecked because I am a bachelor content with my lot as a single man.
Nor should my culinary skills be underestimated.

I always pick a plump hen and stuff it with sage, bay leaves, oregano, and garam masala before I put it into the oven for slow roasting.
