If he never had the fake plates would he have ended up in court? No not a chance because then they would have to take us all to court.

As long as everyone sticks together, they cant force anyone to pay.

Not paying your etoll bill is not illegal... What bill I dont get post as the postal service is on strike.

They have to prove you recieved the bill and then take millions of road users to court for non payment. Not going to happen.

They just trying to scare the law abiding citizens that already pay for everything in this country to pay for yet more corruption.

As long as you don't get issued a summons regarding your outstanding etoll amounts , we are safe. However they are doing road blocks now and scanning your number plates to see if you are owing. Once they see you are , summons are issued. This is the only way they can come close to collecting some money.

Like many others,you fell hook,line and sinker for SCAMRALs BS...this matter never went to court due to etolls,period. They are still busy trying to screw around with legislation in order to make us pay, via witholding licence disks.

The issue is the fake numberplates, rather than etolls. That guy put false plates on his car to evade etolls, and presumably speeding tickets etc as well. That's fraud, and he got what he deserved. Most of us don't go that route, me included.

Yup, fake plates are a criminal offense, not a traffic violation. This is plain stupid.

As for ETolls, stand together guys, MILLIONS are not paying. The SANRAL stops with scanning your plates are only to intimidate you. They cannot issue any warrant for you as this has to be done on a judge or courts authority.

If we as Gautengers stand together, the system will collapse, and we will all have more $$ to spend on massages and punting... so its win win :)

The guy in question was done for Fraud, not for not paying e-toll, every time he drove under a gantry it was a fraudulent act and as such he got his bottom beaten blue.

SANRAL are in an unenforceable position, as long as people don't actually commit a crime by trying to hide their plates, etc, then they can't really do anything. This guy went a step too far by using cloned/fake plates.
