You phone a WG and ask where in Edenvale you are and she says "im just 10 minutes away from there", which apparently is Kempton Park. Edenvale is Edenvale and KP is KP. Anyone experienced it ?

I run my secondary ad under ORT Benoni when I do require 2 concurrent ads. There are parts pf Kempton that are further from the airport than Benoni.......I always say I don't do things without a good reason. I found lots of foreigners didn't have a clue where Benoni is, the ORT reference gives them a better idea. If I could state 15km from ORT as an area thats what I would do. Maybe thats what WGs are thinking. I do agree some areas just can't be reconciled.....like a few weeks ago a lady advertising one ad under ORT Benoni and another one under Edenvale.......they're several towns apart, they don't even border one another at any point.

For us out of town guys who don't know Jhb and Pta to well it does create a problem.

@Nadia, I agree with your thinking of referencing to known landmarks.

When I was in randburg my ad was under "Ferndale" instead of malanshof, reason for that was, I was the only girl in malanshof and I wasn't far from ferndale!

Agree, this is most irritating, kempton park is not greenstone, Germiston is not Edenvale. I think it's got to do with affluency of an area, the more affluent the area, the more a WG can up her prices. It's like houses, why advertise Bramley when you can advertise Melrose Arch.

I agree but ESA does not have Birchleigh as an area. Birchleigh is right next to Norkem park so I use Norkem park as an closest guide to where I am. Guys should check the area on a wg profile before he calls. What is the point of calling me when u know I am to far. Even if I tell u I am near a area I also explain to u where I am.

Savannah if you speak to Jemma she'll get that fixed and they'll add Birchleigh as an area.
