So we all know we need a punting phone.
But what is a good phone that can do whatsapp and relatively cheap (say below R1000). And you dont have to buy it with a contract or give your details.

I currently use a Hisense. But it is a pretty shitty phone. Slow, low memory etc. it sometimes frustrate the shit out of me.

What cheap and good alternatives are there? And where to buy?

However, I don't give a shit, so I use my backup data (punting) SIM in slot two on my main phone.

We do? Been punting for over 10 years and never needed one, because I have nothing to hide. You only need a punting phone if you have a wife / gf / bf to "bust" you. Just a thought but if you NEED a punting phone perhaps you shouldn't be punting and instead work on improving the relationships you already have? Everytime I upgrade, the previous handset becomes the "play phone" with a "Pakistani Sim" obviously.

Any phone that is at least a previous gen, or better yet the one before.

That way you can easily dismiss it as being the old phone you had and upgraded from.

A separate puntin sim should be mandatory. My pro tip is to never store the chip I'm the phone. Remove and hide. OT raises less questions if if the phone is found.

Wipe the phone after every use. Don't store data on it.
Don't create or link it to a cloud account.

Learn to browse in incognito mode. It's not 100% the best option but is good enough to hide what you been upto should a partner find the phone (and assuming she is not some super secret spy with cia tools of the trade).

My punting phone was discovered in my workdesk draw by a girlfriend. She bought the excuse that's my old phone so easily. It help the phone did look well used. She simply put it back in the draw and never came up again. Managed many more punts with that phone and she was none the wiser.

Reason we broke up, she couldn't deal with my needs...hence the need to punt.

Not necessarily as both Samsung And Redmi have a secure folder or second space. Its hidden and only accessible with seperate password or fingerprint, different to main phone. Put sim in once to get number and verify whatsapp in the "second space". Once Whatsapp is running throw sim in dirtbin and never put in phone again

With Whatsapp being more prevalent now, I just have a punting sim that I use for whatsapp on my phone.

Switch off all notifications and use it to communicate and make calls.
