The key to preventing breakage is not thickness but rather lube.

Also make sure that the lube you use is compatible for condoms.. some lubes deteriorate the integrity of condoms.

I don't know why some girls like using oil instead of water based lubes. Oil breaks condoms.

Make sure you leave room in the tip when you put it on. It needs to hang slightly floppy on the tip of your dick, otherwise there's too much tension and it will break.

It takes a long, long time for oil to damage the condom. Still not a good idea to do but unlikely to break many condoms in the real world.
