Had a very long chat to a lady friend of mine in Cape Town regarding a local social in Cape Town as well as another friend in Durban
Both answers were the same, everybody is too private and nobody would pitch up
Is this correct?

Most clients in this business doesnt even want to be seen by another client not even by another girl in the house. Alot of bad reviews are based on a client bumping into another punter or there was no privacy. Whatever that means cause most i mean all rooms have doors. There are about 20k plus punters on esa. Thats only taking basic members and goldmembers.
So if u take the amount of punters going to a social i would say the lady friend is correct. The 20k count is only for punters in gauteng area by the way

Guys in Cpt are solo creatures..(atleast most of those that i have met over the years and talking to some other ladies they just confimed this).
You do get the odd one here and there that would risk a double up session with another punter for mfm or mmf sessions to tick off a bucket list kink if its organised by an SP.. but even those would shy away from a social as it is too "public" for them.
Its all about social image and standing in the community over here...
No one wants to risk running into a business partner/client/boss at a social and risk their personal image in the community.
They dont want to risk someone/anyone having info about their personal lifes.
Or risk seeing someone else there and view them differently as a result.
Another deterent is the fact that a lot of multi generational families live in Cpt so chances of running into a father/son or a cousin/uncle is pretty good.
There aint as many "venues" or SPs in Cpt as there is in JHb ot PTA for that matter so there always a chance of running into someone you know if you do chose to go to a more "public" accessible venue or an advertised event like a social.
And another thing that i have personally noticed over the last couple of years.. i am seeing more and more clients that genuinely suffer from some forn of anxiety and we all know that big gatherings and social events and anxiety dont necessarily mix well.
Yes and we all know.. " well they there too/ we both there so it doesnt matter" reasoning that we use... but that dont seem to work on CPT punters...it just makes them less likely to want to go.. lol
All that said deep down i still hope that one day we might have a CpT social.. if only more Cpt venues would advertise in esa.;)
Then it would be a lot easier to put out feelers on forum and see which venue would like to host and ask those punters that would go to a social which venue they would preffer and then get a ball rolling from there:)
#crossing fingers that maybe we do get it right one day...
But for now.. we might aswell go have a sundowner at the waterfront and do an open call for those that want to join..and my bet is it will only be one or two of the girls that pitch..with no punter in sight..;)

My question is more based on why are the Gauteng socials so successful and the other regions don't seem to be interested

I agree 100% with what Miss Red (Louise) is saying regarding Cape Town.

Different dynamics .
Cape town is clicky
Punters and SP's transient...and those that are locals do not mix.
Eg. Khayelitsha mix not with Cape flats mix not with Camps bay.
Durban dynamics.
Esa is NOT the biggest advertising platform or drawcard .
Punters care not for socials and are also transient as are societal dynamics highly influential.
Gauteng.
Cosmopolitan.
Sex, drugs and alcohol openly used and spoken about (even though present in other provinces too) as are the punts shared and communication among Punters relied on and treated as "gospel".
Plus it is a small group in Gauteng that has been around for a long long time that call for and organize socials.
A gauteng thing...an attitude of who cares who knows what or who...a sort of acceptable "gang bang" no offense but, rather a play on words....explaination for those who will take immediate offense and get all defensive.
RB.

Lets just move away form the purple world for a second..;)
Normal life... if a guy from jhb tells you lets have a braai at my house or a lady says lets have coffee very often that is meant and it might even happen the very minute after the invite is extended.. and if not they will make sure to take a number and call you and make sure you know the invite was genuine, and to make sure you will be there tomorrow or whenever the braai/coffe drinking was suggested for.
Not cpt.. the "lets catch up" or "have a braai" or "lets do coffe" are all just platitudes with no solid foundation or inkling to follow through even with people they know so its much less likely to be genuine with a random stranger they just met;)
Just go look on tik tok/fb at the multitude of younger adults that relocated to cpt that post about stuggeling to build social circles and friendships in Cpt, that never use to have that problem back in guateng.
Why there is such a difference in how the people of jhb and cpt choose to socialize or not to socialize, i can not tell you, but it is real.
Maybe someone could make that a study and we can find out;)
Or maybe all these cpt punters and SPs can proof me wrong and reach out and show hands if they would like a social in capetown, maybe we can get peterb roped in to help organise one seeing that he is "the social" guy that had proven over and over he know which strings to pull after taking over from another wonderful lady;)
