At this time of the year a few mates and I get together to enjoy a few cold ones while the wors and chops grill on on the braai,and we talk a bit of shit.The other day we reminesced about our days of national service in the '70's.We had these permanent corporals with a std 7 as instructors.
Some of the sayings they used on us were:
Ek sal jou oe uitsuig en terug spoeg after te uit soodat jy kan sien hoe vuil jou brain is.

Ek sal kak in jou mond,dan haal ek jou aan vir stink asem.

Jy is laaier soos n slanghol se skadenee.

As ek se gaan is jy alreeds terug.

Please excuse the spelling but this "soutie" lives in KZN and does not get much practise in the Taal.I am sure some of the older vpunters can remember similar sayings.

LMFAO.. My step Dad spoke like that to my Brother's and then to the boyfriend's who came to pick us up for date's... Good thing his mellowed out over the year's..

Other expressions I like:
"Nou sous dit behoorlik" referring to a steady downpour.

On a fishing trip oom Sarel says to me:
"Ai, kyk hoe spook hy" referring to the thrashing fish as I reel it in.

In Engels se ons:
A clutch of eggs.
In Afrikaans se ons:
'n Broeisel eiers.

Ai, dit klink te te oulik!!

@Ben,thanks for the correction,fortunately for you,you did not have to do national service in the army.Most of us had written matric and we had to endure the attentions of these "korporals" with their std. 7 education.One of their favorite instructions to the english guys was "sien jy daardie klippie by die anderkant van die veld?gaan haal hom vir my" so we would run 100m ,fetch the klippie and run back to be told "nie daardie een,die een langs hom,hardloop terug en kry hom"

Being in the sandf post 94 at my "own" choice. I must say some of the sayings by the corporals was classic in certain aspects that one just wanted to laugh out loud.
One was when standing at attention you were told to "maak daardie arms reg! Dit lyk soos twee donkie piele daar langs jou".
