401 years later - Great advances in terms of technological progress. But as humans, we remain trapped in a time warp where we have hardly developed socially. Nevertheless, we have grown our population from perhaps 75 million to an overwhelming 7.8 billion with little thought as to what effect we have on our planet and all its other inhabitants and their interactions.

Not sure that I can agree with his statement as the "ignorance and error" remains manifest.
